Community Gardens 4 Mevagissey

Community Garden Project

For Gorran, Gorran Haven, Mevagissey, Polmassick,Portmellon, St Ewe.

We are looking to create our Community Garden as a vibrant, shared green space dedicated to bringing people together through the joy of gardening.

Our purpose is to cultivate not only plants but also a sense of community, well-being, and connection to nature.

We aim to provide a welcoming environment where everyone, from seasoned gardeners to beginners, can grow fresh produce, flowers, and friendships while nurturing their mental health.

Benefits for Mental Health

Our garden is more than just a place to grow food—it’s a sanctuary for your mind and soul. Engaging in gardening activities has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression by fostering mindfulness and a sense of calm. The act of planting, tending, and harvesting offers a rewarding sense of purpose and achievement, boosting self-esteem and resilience.

Here, you’ll find a supportive community that helps combat loneliness and builds meaningful connections. By working side-by-side with neighbors, you’ll forge bonds that strengthen your sense of belonging. Immersing yourself in nature, even in the heart of the city, provides a restorative escape, promoting relaxation and mental clarity.

Join us to experience the therapeutic power of gardening, where every seed planted is a step toward better mental health and a brighter, more connected community.
